  1. The Duke women’s soccer team is unbelievable. I was at the game against tOSU, and they played near perfect soccer. The goal they gave up was only one of a few chances the Buckeyes had all game. And Kaitlyn Kerr’s gamewinning goal was a thing of beauty– header finish off of a free kick from nearly midfield. (Watch the video)

Sad for Andrew Wenger and the men’s team, but they’ll be back. A lot of tough injuries made this season less than it could have been.

  2. As I mentioned to you, I went to the UNC-UCF team as I like to support the Heels whenever they make it down to my current neck of the woods. Was a little disappointing, but they made a game of it with a late in reg. equalizer. i don’t know the team very well, but actually (to me) it looked like the girl who scored (Crystal) who looked to be the fastest player out there. Surprised she only has 3 goals. Anyway, 1 quick anecdote. The gator announcer had a little fun reporting scores by saying in an enthusiastic voice “In another result…Ohio State Won!!! (knowledgeable Tar Heel fans cheer here during pause…and then punchline….) and Duke two!”

  3. John, that is absolutely hilarious. Thanks for giving me that detail. Jake- I was there too. Just a fantastic game, and thank God that first goal didn’t stand up for OSU. Very much against the run of play.

  4. Oh nice, Shane, should’ve known you’d be there. You going to the Friday Elite 8 match against the randomest team in the land, Long Beach State?

Hopefully we take them down and move on to the Final Four.

And that story from John is great. Can’t believe UNC is already out.
