Triangle Prophets, Week 11

Every Friday, a group of fearless webmasters and sports fanatics from around the Triangle will gather to predict five college football games against the spread. Every Duke, Carolina, and N.C. State game will be featured, along with a smattering of high profile non-Triangle games. As the season goes along, we’ll keep the standings updated and see who emerges as the one true prophet. Make your predictions in the comment section. Each week, we’ll feature any and all commenters who pick all 5 games correctly.

Current Standings

1. John Watson, The Devil’s Den – 29.5 points

2. Nate Friedman, UNC football correspondent26.5 points

3. Me – 25.5 points

4. Tar Heel Fan Blog – 24.5 points
4. James Henderson, Publisher, Pack Pride – 24.5 points

6. The Devil Wolf, TRB – 23.5 points

7. Jim Young, Editor, ACCSports.com – 22.5 points

John Watson continues his meteoric rise with another 3-point week, but GUESS WHAT? We had our first little taste of perfection. James Henderson, the man the prophets forgot, struck a blow for the cellars of the world with a perfect 5-for-5 week, the first in prophet history. Incredible. (The rest of us stunk.)

    DUKE- we’re in their heads.
STATE- just imagine the eagles in ugly ass baby blue.
STANFORD- Luck will win the Heisman.
NEBRASKA- and Bo Pelini better run up the f-ing score.
AUBURN- they’re at home I guess.

  2. Adrian says:

    Duke
    NCSU
    Stanford
    Nebraska
    Auburn

  3. Brian says:

Duke over VIRGINIA (-10) – I’m just praying here that -10 is too much for the Wahoos. Not a ton of faith in my Blue Devils tonight, sadly 🙁
State (-2.5) over BOSTON COLLEGE – BC is just awful. State isn’t quite as bad. I hate both teams, but I’ll State in the Vegas zone.
STANFORD (-3.5) 0ver Oregon – Oregon just isn’t USC in terms of defensive talent. I have a hard time seeing Stanford losing here at home.
PENN STATE over Nebraska (-3) – Let’s call this their “Win one for the JoePa” moment. There’s gonna be a lot of anger that will manifest in a rowdy crowd in Beaver Stadium on Saturday.
Auburn over GEORGIA (-13) – 13 points seems high here. Losses seem relatively even (Georgia’s had an easier schedule since opening with Boise/USC, Auburn has played okay since some bad opening games). That’s all I’ve got here, though.

Heck of a week for Vegas — they hit both the Duke-Virginia and the Nebraska-Penn St. lines right on the nose.

    Game comments from anyone? Potentially?

Seriously. Two games into the season and not a mention? wow. This never would have happened if SCSD was still alive.
