The Triangle Prophets, Week One

Every Friday, a group of fearless webmasters and sports fanatics from around the Triangle will gather to predict five college football games against the spread. Every Duke, Carolina, and N.C. State game will be featured, along with a smattering of high profile non-Triangle games. As the season goes along, we’ll keep the standings updated and see who emerges as the one true prophet. Make your predictions in the comment section. Every week, we’ll feature any and all commenters who pick all 5 games correctly.

Nate

DUKE over Richmond. Duke takes their first step toward a national championship. HAHAHAHA sorry, I can’t write that without laughing, Shane.

Liberty beats the spread against State, but State wins. 29 is too big a number for me to be happy. There’s something ironic in writing, “State over Liberty,” perhaps for the implied political consequences.

James Madison beats the spread vs. UNC, but good guys win. The Nobody Believes in Us Card makes its first appearance, though probably unneeded.

GEORGIA over Boise St (in Atlanta). Home crowd takes this one.

Oregon over LSU (in Arlington, TX). LSU’s dodged too many bullets in recent years to escape here.

Will

Dook (Editor’s note: I just found out Will was a PiKA in college. He’ll go to great lengths to say the UNC chapter is different, but, you know…PiKA.)
Liberty
UNC
Georgia
Oregon

(Administrator’s Note: I can edit any of your posts, Shane. Just keep that in mind. For instance, I can magically make a picture appear, like the one shown below.)

Your picks below. Good luck, and enjoy the games!

  1. TarHeelAlex says:

DUKE covers…somewhere in the neighborhood of 14…so let’s say 31-17 (a lot like Louisville-Murray St last night in my opinion).
    STATE. 56-7.
    CAROLINA 34 JMU 14
GEORGIA carries the banner of the mighty SEC in slaying that impostor Boise. UGA 24 Boise 21
I love and hate this game. Love the matchup on paper…hate the damn suspensions…and how Oregon helped itself out with an investigation into Oregon. What BS!
On the field, normally I’d pick LSU, but Oregon in this one. score….uhhhh…what the hell, Ducks 38 Tigers 27

  2. Brian says:

    Duke
Liberty (29 points is just too much to ask…)
    UNC
Boise State (I just have a hard time picking against Kellen Moore)
    LSU

  3. Adrian says:

UR (can’t bet against the alma mater– plus the Spiders own dook)
    NCSU
    UNC
    Boise St.
    Oregon

  4. Nate says:

Now I feel like a freaking dumbass.

  5. Shane says:

Brian, you’re the only one of any commenter or expert to get 4. Well done. Too much faith in Duke was the only thing keeping you from perfection. Adrian, nice job being the only one to pick Richmond.

    Standings:

    Devil Wolf: 3
    Will: 2
    TarHeelFanBlog: 2
    John Watson: 2
    John Henderson: 1
